If there is one piece of makeup that I consider myself kind of an expert on, it's mascara.  I mean, I like makeup.  I like playing with it, trying out new styles, and I'm pretty darn good with it for the most part, but I'm certainly not an expert on it, more of an adventurer maybe?  But,  I also had the great fortune of being born with super long eyelashes, so from a young age, I learned how to show them off (seriously, I was the 5-year-old who could apply mascara flawlessly).  But, in addition to showing them off, I also learned how to take care of them.  Meaning never, and I mean NEVER sleeping with mascara (or any makeup for that matter) on my face. To trying out tons of mascaras to find the ones that not only highlight my favorite feature to their fullest extent without doing damage to my eyelashes while I am wearing it.

It is no joke when I say I have tried tons of mascaras.  There was a time when I was searching for my favorites that I bought a new brand of mascara every time I needed to replace  an old one. And I did find many amazing mascaras, and it just makes sense that you benefit from my research as well.  These mascaras are my current favorites, at every price range.

Marcelle Xtension Plus Curl Mascara: If you read my post on my Summer Beauty Favorites, you have already heard me wax poetic about Marcelle Xtension Plus Curl Mascara. This is my current favorite mascara. The key is in the brush. The curve is perfect to reach every bit of your eyelashes, even the tough to reach corners and I swear it leaves no clumps.

L'ORÉAL Double Extend Lash Extension Effect Mascara: I've tried many double sided, primer/mascara combinations and this one continues to be my favorite.  Very little primer is needed (in fact, I've found that it's less effective if you use too much at a time) for it to be effective, the mascara side is good too, but I don't love it the same way I love the primer, and I've found that the mascara dries up quite quickly.

Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara: I just recently bought this on a whim, because I needed a quick mascara and it was so inexpensive.  I didn't expect it to work as well as it did.  It really does provide extreme volume like it says.  However, because it is so inexpensive there are some concessions.  It doesn't quite have the staying power of a more expensive brand, so it does become flakey before the end of the day.  I've utilized it's volumizing effects to their greatest extent by layering it with another lengthening mascara from a more expensive brand.

Covergirl The Super Sizer Mascara: This was another mascara I bought on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked the results!  This is another one where the wand makes all the difference.  The tapered bristles are extremely effective in lengthening and separating and because it is so thin it makes getting into those tough corners a little easier.  The thinness of the brush also makes coating your finer lower lashes much simpler.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara: "Full fan effect," are the key words here.  This mascara has a great, thick, tapered, and curved wand that really does give your lashes a gorgeous fanned effect.  The thickness, curve, and length of the bristles also leave you with great volume.

Milk Makeup Ubame Mascara:  I only recently received this mascara in my September Birchbox, but in the short time that I've had it, I've been thrilled with the results!  As shown in the photo, the brush is tapered into three sections, which allows it to really coat every bit of your lashes.

Benefit They're Real! Lengthening Mascara: This is another mascara that I mentioned in my Summer Beauty Favorites post.  Again, this mascara has an excellent applicator brush. The tip of the brush is shaped like a sphere, making it much easier to reach all of your lashes, even those elusive lower lashes! This mascara adds both length and volume, glides on super easy, never flakes, and holds up like a champ all day long.

Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara: "Clump crusher," is entirely accurate.  This mascara is always the final layer I apply because it really does comb through and separates your lashes, leaving them gorgeous and clump free!  Once again, as we've learned with all the best mascaras, the secret is in the brush.

W3ll People Expressionist Mascara: Another Birchbox gem.  This mascara is great for a softer, more natural look.  This is not the one that will leave you with huge, glamorous lashes.  But, if you just need a mascara that coats your lashes evenly, stays all day, and leaves your lashes clump free, this is a wonderful option.

That's it for now!  I'm always trying out new products, so I'll be sure to keep you updated as I find my new faves!  Until then, friends!
