LEXI'S CAMPOUT BRIDAL SHOWER

Hello, lovelies!  I am so sorry that this has taken so long for me to post!  As many of you know I recently moved back to Minnesota for the summer and my first weekend back was jam packed! My youngest sister's graduation party, my dad's birthday, lots of family in town, annnnd Lexi's bridal shower!! You know, that little event that I have been planning and talking about for months now?!  Yup! Finally happened!  And, I think it turned out AWESOME!

Lexi (my the older of my two younger sisters) is getting married in ONE MONTH!! And, as I said before, this last weekend I had the honor and pleasure of throwing her a bridal shower.  A little background on the bride:  She is hands down, without a doubt, the most laid-back, easy to please woman on the planet.... with exception to maybe my mother, but only maybe.  Anyways, as lovely as these traits are, they make it somewhat tricky to choose a theme that we felt reflected her.  But, ultimately we decided to go with a campout theme!

We applied the theme to everything that we could!  The invitations, the food, the decor, even our outfits!  And, I have to say, I was so pleased with how everything turned out! I wanted to share with everyone, some of what we did, so that maybe you can utilize them too!

The Decor:   About a month before the shower I asked my Dad to go through all of his hunting, fishing, and camping gear and find me a bunch of stuff that we could use as decorations!  He totally came through! He found tackled boxes, which we used to collect recipe cards and to display signage and other items, thermoses which we used as a cute way to display some of our various food items, and lanterns that we strategically placed and hung around the room.

Additionally, he cut up a bunch of logs for in various sizes that we used as display pieces.  I have to admit; these may have been my favorite decorative element.  They just worked out so well, and added such a unique and authentic look to everything!  I mean, just look how awesome they look in the cupcake holder!!

Last, but certainly not least, my wonderful in-laws provided us with some beautiful wildflower bouquets that we displayed around the room!  We bought a super cute gingham table cloth, napkins, and cups from Amazon.  Plus we also bought these adorable birch-patterned straws that people went nuts over!! So cute!

The Food:  We had a lot of leftover food from my youngest sister's graduation party the day before, but we still had plenty of food that tied into our theme!  We served smores cupcakes (which, P.S. were the cutest things ever!) made by the lovely people at Cupcake, worms in the mud (chocolate pudding, crushed Oreos, and gummy worms),  and smores on a stick (adorably displayed in the thermos!).  We also served a plate of crackers and cheese, amazing chicken, quinoa, and pasta salads, and one of my favorite dishes were our mini hamburger sliders! Which, I am so upset because somehow I managed to forget to take a picture of them!!  But, I'm sure you can imagine how adorable they were!  Beverages we kept on the simple side, serving lemonade, pink lemonade, water, and a simple white sangria.

The Outfits: It has kind of been made tradition in our family that the bridesmaids and the bride dress up to match the theme of the shower.  So, for this theme we opted for Denim or blue dresses, matching flannels tied at the waist, and a bandana in the hair.  Yeah, we were a little bit "Rosie the Riveter," but who really cares?  It was fun and super cute! You can see a flat lay of my full outfit above, and I will do another post with the shopping links for each piece!

The whole shower was totally lovely, I was very pleased with how everything turned out, and I think everyone really enjoyed themselves!  Next, of course, comes the Bachelorette party!  I already have so many ideas; it's going to be AMAZING!  Stayed tuned!
